Tech Lead - Java Engineer - Freelance [Remote]

JOB TYPE: Freelance, Contract Position (no agencies/C2C - see notes below)

LOCATION: Remote - United States and Canada only (TimeZone: EST | Partial overlap)

HOURLY RANGE: Our client is looking to pay $125 – $160/hr

ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Long-term

THE OPPORTUNITY

Skillset/Technologies:

● Java (Java will be 17) ● AWS DynamoDB*● AWS Lambda● Event Driven Architecture / Distributed systems design / Domain-driven design● Infrastructure as code as a first principle (terraform, CDK, …)● Pipeline as code● Previous experience working in data projects*

10+ experience is required.

To re-build using AWS native services to provide a modern, scalable solution that can reliablyhandle the company's data needs.● MVP architecture can be evolved to handle all use cases● MVP delivered in 6 months or less● Next use case defined, plan to evolve system to support it is articulated

The Scope

1. Receiving flat files by copying from existing SFTP to S3. Removing flat files from SFTPlocation.2. Archiving encrypted files3. Decrypting files4. Providing data acknowledgements to providers where needed5. Two critical Use Cases6. Audit record and/or observability into files processed / work done.
