We are looking for a senior program manager to manage mass spectrometry innovation in support of our research and development team at CALID Switzerland in Fällanden.

The dynamic nature of this role requires that the ideal candidate have exemplary understanding of electrospray high resolution mass spectrometry applications, project management, product marketing and the ability to identify and anticipate challenges with development projects. The role must interact seamlessly and with a professional demeanor across a broad range of individuals including members of the Senior Management Team. To perform this job successfully, the individual is expected to handle highly sensitive and confidential information, IP, and institutional information while exercising professionalism and discretion. Excellent English and German skills are a must.


Create and identify business growth opportunities and align product strategy with product management and business leadership teams

Align with the business leadership team and provide market and user requirements to hardware and software R&D to initiate new product launches in the field of ESI timsTOF MS

Launch and execute the long-term business plan for timsTOF hardware and software products at the intersection between Sales, Production, Service, R&D, Supply Chain & QM departments and ultimately support products in the field

Manage the timsTOF portfolio life cycle and its positioning into the relevant life sciences market segments with an emphasis on small molecule solutions

Identify target marketing activities, align with market segment, business leadership and commercial teams

Assist the achievement of business plan by supplying expert advocacy in support of Commercial Operations by providing scientific and message content for marketing materials and sales tools

Gather, evaluate and summarize competitor information and market trends

Ensure continual awareness of competitive developments in the field, including attendance and presentations at customer facing events and internal trainings.

Willingness to travel up to 20%


Master/Diploma degree in Proteomics, Analytical Chemistry or Engineering fields relevant to the application of MS in life sciences markets.

At least 5 years commercial experience in a life-science MS instrumentation company is a plus.

Has a passion for customer satisfaction and enjoys networking and building collaborations with industry thought leaders and key customers.

Creative problem solver that is able to leverage global resources efficiently and effectively.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Proficient in planning projects and executing on timelines achieving milestones and goals.

Ability to partner with product development, sales, service, marketing and customers to achieve challenging goals.

Able to translate strong scientific and technical knowledge into simple training and support approaches for sales and customers.

Capable of working to a high standard as part of a team committed to quality work but also responsible for their individual contributions.

Willingness to take on required tasks without prompting when the need arises, and to provide responsive support where needed.

Reliable with a very high standard of personal presentation and a sense of purpose in seeing things through

Be highly organized and capable of dealing with several tasks at the same time.

English and German language skills required.
